Description

Esmeralda Realin is a Colombian artist from Bogota. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, working in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, performance art, and photography. Realin was born in Bogota in 1984 and grew up in a traditional Catholic family. She attended the University of the Andes where she studied art and design. She went on to pursue a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. Realin has exhibited her work in a variety of venues, both in Colombia and abroad. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the 13th International Biennial of Cuenca in Ecuador, the 3rd Biennial of Visual Arts in Cali, and the 5th International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Panama. Realin’s work is often focused on exploring the relationship between the individual and the collective, and the power of art to create social change. She often uses her art to explore themes of identity, history, and memory. Her work has been featured in publications such as Art Nexus, Art Forum, and Art News. Realin has also been involved in a number of community-based projects. She has collaborated with local artists and organizations to create public art pieces, such as murals and sculptures, in the city of Bogota. Realin’s work is characterized by its vibrant colors, strong composition, and bold imagery. She often uses traditional Colombian motifs and symbols to create pieces that are both visually striking and thought-provoking.
